Tom Csekey Sandoval - Tigre Blanco - began organizing in Bay Area garment shops and foundries before becoming an International Organizer with the Molders Union and helping unionize 30,000 UC workers with AFSCME. Over four decades with SEIU locals, he served as Organizer, Chief Negotiator, Director, Staff Director, and 1st Vice President of SEIU 1877 (now USWW). He retired from SEIU 2015 in 2025 after a career spent leading strikes, major bargaining, member programs, and defending workers from decertification. Fighting the boss and empowering workers was always the heart of his work.
