LCS GENERAL FUND
When times hit hard, families need assistance to get back on their feet, especially in households where the primary income earner is either unemployed or underemployed. The LCS General Fund allows us to step in to help prevent families from losing their place of residence, keep the utilities on at home, and more.
FOOD ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
In Los Angeles County, 1 in 4 families is facing some level of food insecurity. It’s an issue that is even more pressing in low income families. Through our food distributions, we are able to provide food assistance to any family in need, making a difference for families throughout Los Angeles County and beyond.
HOLIDAY TURKEYS AND TOYS FUND
We see an increase in requests for help during the holidays. Through this fund, we are able to help families during these special times to ensure that every family we help can celebrate Thanksgiving and the holidays with their loved ones.
LOS ANGELES FIRES RELIEF FUND
The January fires that ravaged through Palisades, Altadena and Pasadena impacted the lives of thousands of families. It destroyed communities and changed the foundation of so many lives. Through this fund, we have been able to assist displaced families with temporary housing, food, personal care products and more. With your help, we can continue to be an anchor of hope for these families for the foreseeable future.
CRISIS INTERVENTION FUND
Donations to the Crisis Intervention Fund will directly support the training of community members in recognizing and responding to individuals experiencing a mental health or behavioral crisis. These funds will be used to provide evidence-based workshops, expert-led seminars, and hands-on simulations that equip participants with the skills to de-escalate situations safely and compassionately. By empowering local residents—such as teachers, first responders, and caregivers—with the tools and knowledge to intervene effectively, the fund fosters a more informed, responsive, and resilient community prepared to support those in crisis.
EMERGENCY READINESS FUND
Donations to the Emergency Readiness Fund will directly support the training of community members to prepare for and respond to emergencies effectively. These funds will be used to organize workshops, simulations, and educational sessions that equip residents with essential skills such as first aid, disaster response, evacuation planning, and communication strategies. By investing in hands-on training and locally tailored preparedness materials, the fund ensures that individuals are empowered to protect themselves, assist neighbors, and contribute to a more resilient and self-reliant community when disasters strike.
STAMP OUT HUNGER FOOD DRIVE
Known as the largest 1-day food drive in the country, the Annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive engages community members into the fight against hunger by asking them to donate non-perishable food into a grocery bag, which is collected by letter carriers while they do their route. Here in Los Angeles County, Labor Community Services partners with the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch 24, in coordinating these effort. Once the food is collected, the food is sorted and then distributed to local food pantries who provide food assistance to families in need. Your monetary donation will help us fund the expenses that go into this effort.
